Personal, career growth of vet techs and nurses focus of inaugural NAVC HiVE

Empowering veterinary nurses and technicians is the driving force behind the Vet Nurse + Tech HiVE, one in a series of in-person events hosted by the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC).

Tailored exclusively for the largest professional group in the veterinary field, the unprecedented event will showcase speakers covering a wide range of topics, including medical techniques, professional development, personal growth, and enhancing customer communication and experience. Members of the media are welcome to attend at no cost.

“Supporting veterinary nurses and technicians worldwide is a top priority for NAVC, reflecting our commitment to the thriving of all veterinary team members,” shares NAVC CEO Gene O’Neill. “Programs like NAVC HiVE are designed to empower and elevate their skills, addressing industry challenges head-on.”

Veterinary nurses and technicians play a critical role in the veterinary sector, offering assistance in emergency care, nutrition, anesthesiology, radiology, oral care, and various other advanced skill areas. With over 100,000 veterinary nurses and technicians nationwide, they make up 40 percent of the U.S. veterinary profession.

With Texas having the highest number of registered veterinary nurses and technicians in the nation—nearly 14,000 in total—it is a fitting location for the inaugural event.

The HiVE will be divided into three tracks: Professional and Career Development, Clinical Content, and Personal and Self Development, covering topics such as stress management, mindfulness, and financial planning.

This event, scheduled on Oct. 16-18 at the Palmer Events Center in Austin, Tex., aims to bring together veterinary nurses and technicians from across the nation, offering networking opportunities and dynamic learning experiences.

NAVC HiVE events are designed to help address issues impacting veterinary professionals, with each unique HiVE featuring education tracks on niche topics.
