Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG), based in Westchester County, NY, raised more than $1.19 million in October to support underserved pets nationwide, including those impacted by the recent hurricanes in the Southeast.

Through their VEG Cares Share Day event, more than 85 VEG locations participated to help generate revenue for the beneficiaries. On Oct. 17, VEG members decorated their hospitals and spoke to customers to raise awareness about the charitable event and how it can impact local pets in need.

“We are thrilled to be able to help underserved pets in communities across the country, including those impacted by the recent hurricanes in the Southeast,” says David Bessler, VMD, founder and CEO for VEG. “I am also personally proud to see hundreds of VEGgies come together to make a difference on causes they are passionate about.”

VEG Cares 5K welcomed participants and their furry companions to a fun run event around Manhattanville College in Harrison, NY.

VEG Cares is a charitable program that supports underserved pets across the U.S. by providing life-saving care at all VEG hospitals. Funded entirely by donations, it helps pets in financial need, disaster-stricken animals, as well as police, service, and rescue animals.

The company also held VEG Cares 5K on Oct. 19, where participants and their furry companions were welcomed to a fun run event around Manhattanville College in Harrison, NY. This event helped raise additional funding through donations, registrations, and sponsorships.
