In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, which unleashed destructive winds and widespread flooding across six Southeastern states, Purina has committed a $25,000 grant to Greater Good Charities, a global nonprofit, to aid in ongoing rescue and recovery operations. This contribution will support relief efforts, providing food, medical supplies, and hygiene kits to those impacted by the disaster, as well as facilitating the safe transport of shelter animals.
“Our hearts go out to the families and pets affected by Hurricane Helene and the devastating flooding across Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee and Virginia,” says Kim Beardslee, director of Community Affairs, Purina.
The global nonprofit, in partnership with Purina, is distributing food, water and survival supplies to families and nonprofit partners, as well as pet food and veterinary supplies to nonprofits caring for pets.
In addition to the $25,000 funding, the pet nutrition company reports working with several of its U.S.-based manufacturing facilities to ship Purina pet food and cat litter to pet shelters and pet owners in impacted communities.
