‘Tis has been the season for celebration!

Just in time for Christmas, the Adams County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) has celebrated ‘a true miracle’ after clearing out the shelter for the first time in 47 years. The milestone was announced by the non-profit organization on their Facebook page, sharing the adoption of 598 animals and reunion of 125 strays with their pet owners.

“To say that we are beyond excited is an understatement! The staff and volunteers have worked VERY hard to take care of the animals in our care and to make sure they got adopted to the right home!” the shelter says in the statement.

The post, which has garnered more than 800 comments and 5,700-plus likes, expressed gratitude to “everyone for their support.”

The Adams County SPCA has also announced branching pulling animals from other shelters in Pennsylvania “in hopes of relieving some of their stress.”
