One Health education track among offerings at WVC

More than 850 hours of continuing education (CE), 30-plus hands-on lab training, entertainment shows, and nearly 600-vendor exhibit hall await attendees of this year’s WVC.

Now on it’s 96th run, the annual conference by the Viticus Group, will be held at Mandalay Bay Convention Center and Viticus Group-Oquendo Center in Las Vegas, NV, from Feb. 18 to 21. The CE credits offered will cover topics from dentistry to ultrasound and orthopedics and will use unique teaching methods that include glass blowing, painting, and card games.

In addition, Viticus Group is partnering with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for the first time to hold a One Health education track. This four-hour track encompasses learning applicable to both veterinary and human health professionals, while providing both CE and continuing medical education (CME) credits to respective participants. It will include toouc on the importance of the One Health approach, epidemiology, and disease control among others.

More than 375 animal health experts will present to and educate 15,000-plus participants this year.

Plus, entertainment is scheduled, including special guest speaker, World Champion and Mental Health Advocate, Michael Phelps, Grammy-nominated artist Flo Rida, and “O” by Cirque du Soleil.

In an effort to support regional veterinary professionals’ participation, veterinarians, veterinary technicians and practice managers from Arizona, California, Nevada, Texas and Utah are eligible to receive a complimentary one-day Exhibit Hall pass.
