Doing more with in-house equipment

There are equipment trends changing how general practices deliver care: minimally invasive surgery, ultrasound, and panoramic dental imaging. Utilization of these tools presents as a learning opportunity to veterinary technicians and allows general practice to offer more services.

Santa’s reindeer get the OK to fly on Christmas Eve

The pair declared Santa’s reindeer are in great shape and free of injury and disease. Because animals require a health certificates in order to travel between U.S. states or across national borders, Dr. Carlson’s sign-off means the reindeer team are healthy enough to help Santa deliver presents.

Welcome to 2024, the Year of the Dragon, which also has its own appreciation day this month! Peanut butter, which has its own day, makes the list, too though dogs enjoy it 365. The month also highlights dressing pets up and traveling with pets. 

Don’t put your self (care) on the shelf

Veterinary medicine is a whole different ball game. October, leading into November, starts a crazy time for us that is second only to the hectic days of summer. So, many of us dread the holidays and the stress that comes with it. For those of us who work in general practice, our stressors are different than those who work in emergency medicine or even those that work remotely. Those in academia experience their own woes, as well. We all have our holiday horror stories to share with our co-workers.
